Well here I go mi familia,
Yup. I got changed. This time it’s a little
different. I got the phone call at about 9:30 on Saturday night and my zone
leader said, “So who have you been talking to? You have been talking to Someone
high up. Do you know what is going to happen?” I responded and said, “I do now.”
Yup. I am now zone leader. I got moved to an area called Atlacomulco. I am with Elder Goodrich from Springville,
Utah. He seems like a really nice guy and I think he will help me a lot in
getting use to this new position. He has 21 months in the mission, so it will
be weird having someone with more time than me. There is a lot more
responsibility as zone leader. I am super nervous about it all because I want
to really serve everyone in my zone. Having
a good amount of time as district leader I could see what other people thought
about their past zone leaders. Some really liked them, or others could tell
that they only cared about numbers. I really learned a lot in my last area and
I hope to take it here and serve my zone and get to know all the missionaries
and their investigators. Pray for me, because I will need a lot of help. Also
next week I won’t write until Wednesday because I have to go to concilio
[council] and won’t have a p-day until Wednesday.
This past week was really good. The biggest thing
that happened was we had the baptism of Angela. She is so good. She was a
little hesitant about getting baptized this week because she wants to have more
changes in her family life. Her husband is not a very good person and she wants
to make changes. We told her about the example she would be for her family and
how this is just the beginning. It seemed to resolve her doubts and she had her
interview on Thursday. We had a really good service. Edgar and Karla shared a
little message and I played Homeward Bound for the musical number. I was pretty
nervous because I haven’t played piano in like 7-8 months, but it went well.
The Spirit was really strong in the service. Also her granddaughter came to
church with her. I really hope that all of her huge family can come into the
Gospel.
I had to do some interviews for other people this
week, so there wasn’t much more than that. I was super sad leaving yesterday. I
cried saying goodbye to lots of people. I will miss Edgar and his family. I
love them so much. We had cake as we all
cried around the table yesterday. I promised them that in a year I will come
back for their sealing. Also, this one
member named Diana made an announcement to us yesterday. We would go to their house every Monday and
Diana has about a year as a member. She is 21 and super funny. She has such a strong testimony and many times
this change I have suggested that she serve a mission. She said it wasn’t for
her, but yesterday she told us that she just talked to the bishop yesterday and
she plans to leave in December! I am so
excited for her! (in the picture with the orange wall, the tall one).
I have loved Tecnologico so much. I really
thought I was going to stay there another change, but it seems like the Lord
has other plans for me. I have so many good memories there and many good
friends.
So pray for me this next few weeks as I get use
to this new change. Time is always flying.
In less than 7 months I will be home. I
love this mission. It always has challenges, but that is how we grow. If life
were easy, then we would never learn anything. I am grateful for all of your
support. I love and miss you all!
